Your website can look perfect in a browser and still be invisible to AI.
When we checked our own hosting estate, roughly 3 in 10 sites were being turned away by host-level bot protection. Nobody noticed, because the sites worked fine for people.

Five checks you can do today
You do not need us to start. Open ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude and try these:
- Ask who it recommends. Type “Who is the best [your service] in [your town]?” Are you named? Who is instead?
- Ask what it knows about you. Type “What does [your business name] do?” Is the answer right, vague, or missing?
- Check your address and phone details. Do they match on your website, Google Business Profile and directories? AI treats mismatches as a reason to doubt you.
- Check your robots.txt. Visit yourwebsite.com/robots.txt and look for lines blocking GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot.
- Check your host. Ask your web host whether bot protection is turning away AI crawlers. Many do it by default, and you would never see it from your own screen.

Who is behind this
Paul Levy is the founder of Livetech and creator of the Trust Density™ framework.
