The Brief
In scoping the St Kentigern Hospice project it was important for us to get a clear vision of the work to be carried out and the layout, design and message the site needed to portray. The key to the website being successful was the use of high quality graphics and content in a simple and clear format.
“The website built by Livetech has been very successful and it’s driven a lot of revenue. With revenue you need to tap every resource you can, and the website has been a very powerful tool for us. It makes life easier for people to donate money to us, and easier for us to handle it.”

Objectives
- A clean and simple layout for users to follow.
- Use of high quality imagery.
- Responsive design that works cross-device.
- Social media integration.
Planning
We began the process by meeting with the client to discuss their requirements for the application. It was important for us to agree on an approach to take the project forward and for it to be successful.

Development
In addition to being cross-device compatible the site features fully social media integration and submissions forms. Some of the content used in the making of this site was Linux, Apache, My SQL, PHP, HTML5, CSS, AJAX/JQuery.

Final Product
As a result St Kentigerns Hospice has a modern, full responsive website with high quality imagery and content laid out in a simple to navigate structure.

Design
The design was based around the branding of St Kentigern Hospice with use of high quality images representing how the organisation works and giving out a friendly, approachable feel.

UX – User Experience
The user experience of the website was kept simple with first and second level navigation items, to simplify the navigation of pages. The format of text was kept clear with sub navigation for the user to see other related pages in that area of the website.
